  VISITOR REVIEW

At my suggestion, our party of four went to the newly renovated Blue Marlin. It's too bad that the owners spent so much money on the interior and neglected to 1) train the servers 2)Have decent food 3) Be on site to deal with the problems. Our server spilled the Merlot on the table and my guest's dress shirt/never refilled the water glasses until called over and asked to/never offered to bring more bread/never served salads - which she also failed to serve to the couple behind us, too/and, didn't they used to offer a bowl of greens? She had to be called twice to return the bloody (literally - it was bloody)fish/never offered dessert/never offered us coffee or after dinner drinks/AND took the cash for the bill and never returned with the change. 2) The order of the whole crispy fried flounder was bloody at the bone. I sent it back (that took our asking 2 other servers for ours to come to the table). It returned 15 minutes later - hot but still not cooked thru. So I sat there, waiting, a full 15 minutes, while the other 3 folks ate, and finished their meal. (This may have been a good time to offer those refills on that water and bring some bread). After asking for the dessert menu (it was never offered), our friends sat and patiently waited for their Key Lime Pie - which took 10 minutes to arrive. That delay was explained when they took their first bite - it was frozen solid and full of ice crystals. NOW, coffee would have been nice - but no,it too was not an offering deemed necessary by our server. 3) I finally asked for the manager to come over. After very quietly explaining the dissatisfaction with the food and service - her solution was to look me in the eye and use a big,sad 'pouty face' to indicate how sorry she felt. The reaction was more appropriate for an elementary school teacher dealing with a very small child. (Most unprofessional and quite insincere).

It was an expensive Sunday brunch that was terrible. We'll never go there again.
